I would like to weigh in on this issue even though kirkiscool bit the bullet and went to moto (kinda like jumping from the frying pan into the fire imho) but that said, i also am having the exact same problems. However, I never had ANY issues with my Dinc2 until this last OS enhancement upgrade...

So far I have deferred the new Verizon update to my dinc 2. Will it matter whether I am rooted before the update as to restoring root or are they just killing the possibility with this little update? Sorry if this is in the wrong, but I can't move it to roots, hacks etc.

I have never used a screen protector but have a qmadix snapon case with belt clip sleeve for work and my d2 is like new after a year. Tried to go without when off work but phone feels strange in my hand almost slippery. Kind of scary.
