Chatted with Project Fi support today to see if could change shipping method - can't, which was surprised/disappointed by. Was told phone scheduled to ship Oct 20 and arrive in 3 to 5 days. For reference, current status online is Pending Oct 23 - 27.

Yep. Happening to me now as well after the 4.4.3 update. Annoying as use phone for work and as alarm. Looks like may have to try factory reset over the weekend.

Just got the notification that the 4.4/KitKat update has downloaded. Is it ok to accept/install right on top of current system (stock, on T-Mobile) or is it better to do a factory reset first? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I had the same thing going on for a while (on Froyo, didn't get the original GB update). Read somewhere that could clear cache and data for the Market app from Manage Applications (for a different issue) and decided to try that. Afterwards the number of updates in the updates notification...
