Not going to be able to remap default functions without being able to have control over them (root/su) there are some really good guides (even a video) for the rooting process. I understand your hesitation. But as far as I can tell you won't be able to without su permissions.

You can root the phone and setup the genius button like I have where short press is google search and long press is genius button. Not sure if that answers your question.

IF someone could please us alog and capture the link sent to you before you update to 2.2.1 and provide that link you would be doing the community a huge favor. That would enable a root, and a unroot method now. PM or post if you get that link please.

For any of those that have rooted and are using clockwork. Can you please make a completely stock rom? I deleted some apps before backing up, so mine can never be stock folder. I would love to get my hands on a stock one. If you have a link for one, or want help doing it let me know. Thanks...

clockwork mod is now out for MT4G. Alot of reports that you have to be on wifi, but I personally opened it up and said flash and mt4g popped up as only option. Worked perfectly and have already backup rom. Good hunting everyone!!

But now i'm having some issues with space. Titanium back up is saying I have 1.21 free on my phone storage, yet my settings on the phone say I have 898 mb. Don't know how to fix that.
