    Google Assistant Not Responding

Since the Nougat update, I am having problems getting Google assistant to work. 1) Phone does not respond when I say OK google. 2) When I manually open it by long-pressing the home button, it does not respond/react to voice commands 3) Google widget will open, but when I enter text and hit...

Would you buy the HTC 10 again?

I needed to upgrade my M8 and I looked at both the 10 and the S7 Edge. I still loved the 10's UI and looks, but I have been disappointed by the HTC cameras on both the M7 and M8. The shots I took looked fine on the camera screen, but when they were on a monitor in large size, they were always a...

Just picked it up...bye bye Photon 4G!

Just said goodbye to my Photon 4g as well. I would strongly urge you to try a different launcher altogether. There are so many good ones. I had ADW from when I first got my Photon, and using it with 4.1.2 is really amazing, I can eliminate Blinkfeed and just put what i want, exactly how I...

    Text messages not received

I'm having the same issue. Found a thread where a Sprint tech says to call Sprint support so they can troubleshoot. It may have to do with an Airave, if you have one. Lots of people experiencing these issues, not just Photons. Sprint Community: Photon: Text Messaging-Problems sending and...

    Parrot Mki9100 and Voice Commands

I had played music quite a bit with through the phone, and the quality was always fine to my ear. Not any different than with a direct line out to the car's stereo. Yes, the music is muted when the call comes in. The phone actually does that part. Parrot basically supersedes your car's radio...

word wrap with pinch to zoom

Get xscope browser from the market. It word wraps very well and has tabbed browsing and other features that are better than HTC's browser, IMO. I had the Evod3d before I got the Photon and I really missed the HTC browser until I was introduced to xscope. Now I don't miss it at all.

    Must Have Android Apps >>

HTC had a sync app for calendar and contacts when I had an Evo 3d. It may come with the phone. if you're on US Cellular, the link is here: HTC Mobile Phone Support - HTC Desire For notes, I would just suggest bailing on them and using Evernote. You can literally just make a new note in...

    Spoiled

Needed to grab some contact info from my old Pre- yesterday. OMG I almost died waiting for the thing to recognize my taps. I didn't realize how much I had become accustomed to waiting for ages for the phone to do anything. SOOOOOOO laggy. Yes, I miss the Pre's small size, too, but the MoPho...

    Parrot Mki9100 and Voice Commands

Update #2 Happy to report that I spent some time with Voice Commands, and it's working a lot better! I opened the App, hit the menu button, then tapped Adaptation. I spent about 5 minutes saying various commands and names so that the software could better understand my voice. Now I'd say VC...

    Returning for the GS2?

Although I had to return my first Photon because of a bad headphone jack, I'm otherwise really loving this phone. For me, it comes down to the basics. Great phone reception/radio. Great battery life. Fast and reliable. It doesn't have Sense, or an AMOLED screen, but so far, it's a...

    Poor wifi signal reception?

Former Pre user myself. My Wifi on the Photon is very comparable to the Pre, if not better. And web browsing is much faster. But the Pre was still a much better UI, hands down. 13 taps in Android to do what a swipe and a tap would do on the Pre. Grumble grumble. :'( But I'm having less...

    Photon Battery Life

milominderbiner - Thanks for such an incredible resource for newbies. I know you from PreCentral, don't I? One thing I noticed for the Photon, the battery usage info is actually found here: Tap Home >Settings > Battery & data manager >Battery usage

    Parrot Mki9100 and Voice Commands

Update: I've installed Vlingo instead of the stock Voice Commands app and it seems like it has now made peace with my Parrot. All voice calls go through Vlingo when I initiate them on my Parrot remote. Still some quirks with using other aspects of Vlingo, like nav or search. Once initiated...

    Motorola Services Contact?

Here's an interesting twist. I've imported and synced my contacts with a Desktop Outlook client (I know, I know - i need to move to the cloud...) and now my contacts are all in my phone and very nice. But they are listed as Motorola Services Contact. It's not associated with an "Account" such...
