Nexus 5 won't get N, but how long will it get 6.x sec updates?

Looks like it was around March 2015: It’s official: Nexus 5 is out of the Google Store for good So, given the 3 year timetable, guessing November will be the last.

Did anyone order Moto G from Amazon?

Motorola ALWAYS said, from the very beginning, if you went to their site that it was the Global model shipping on December 2nd, with the US model shipping on the 9th. Why no news outlet chose to report the two different dates, I can't understand. But it's certainly not Motorola's fault. When I...

Share your Nexus 5 camera photos, videos, and thoughts!

It's weird that the f/stop info keeps showing differently. I was under the impression this was a set number for phone cameras? Alex, your photos show 2.4, yet most of the other photos that have shown up keep showing 2.5. I think some of the photos that leaked right before on the 30th also were...

Nexus 5: First Impressions & Reviews

Re: Using my new nexus5 right now There are several apps on the Play Store that will do this for any Android phone. Personally I use Delayed Lock with its Bluetooth plugin. Works perfectly. Just saying... this shouldn't be a determining factor for buying or not buying.

Chromecast Compatible Apps [10 apps added]

Re: Chromecast Compatible Apps [21Aug - Fling for PC/Mac/Linux] Pocketcast's 4.3.x update last night mentioned in the release notes that the Chromecast support is built in and ready to go in this version... they're just waiting for Google to release the SDK/give the go ahead :)

    TheVerge review is up!

Good to see they pointed out the HUGE post-processing issue with the camera in the shots that have come out so far. Hopefully this is just a software problem that can be tweaked. If not, since the camera on my phone is of major importance, Moto X might not be the upgrade from the GS2 that I was...

    What has Google just done?!?

Just to put it to rest, watched the Leo Laporte interview with Guy Kawasaki from Motorola and he absolutely confirmed that there will be a Google Play Edition of this coming. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

    What has Google just done?!?

Not saying he's wrong, but virtually every other tech site is reporting that a Google Play edition is forthcoming. Seems odd that they're ALL just making it up.

    Good but Deceived???

How were you deceived? They never said anything about tabs from Android devices. In fact, they EXPLICITLY stated Chrome on the Desktop. Think the topic title needs some adjustment.

    Does Chromecast support 5ghz Wi-Fi?

Yes, that works fine. As long as the wireless networks are on the same subnet, it doesn't matter which band they're on. The device just needs to be able to find the Chromecast's IP is all.

    Think well get jelly bean?

Actually, according to the changelog posted over on XDA, FF13 focused only on 3 changes, all explicitly for battery life. Not really a "lot" of bugs. Hopefully there was be some more coming prior to any JB update to clear up the remaining issues (roaming indicator, Vlingo cutoff, etc).

Jumping ship to another phone. Help me out guys.

If the market you're in doesn't have WiMax, are you sure you'd get LTE anyway? I always use WiFi when available anyway. And yes, LTE is that much of a battery drain compared to 3G.

Jumping ship to another phone. Help me out guys.

I'm more or less in the same situation. However, LTE or WiMax both sorta kill the battery, so I'm not going to be using either extensively no matter what I got. There's no ETA for either of the two announced LTE Sprint phones though, so "soon" is relative. The specs on either are no better than...
