    Redesign Google Messenger

FWIW, it works on my Nexus 6P running 7.1. The new icon is awful though. Looks childish in my opinion.

i just can't get over the bezel on the xl

I don't think I'll mind the slightly smaller screen compared to the Nexus 6P, especially since the overall phone dimensions are smaller. I like big screens and I cannot lie...

    Battery Life

The battery life of the XL is the #1 reason why I'd choose the XL over the regular Pixel. I've been saying for a long time that the battery life of the phone and the camera are the two most important aspects to consider.

Is waterproofing really that important to you?

To me, yes it is. It's not that I get my phone wet or dusty that often, but I want a phone that I can take anywhere and in any environment. It's a "feature" that raises the bar and sets the top tier of phones apart.

    Pixel Specifications

Water and dust proofing are nice features, but for me, the biggest thing I'm waiting to learn about from all of the reviews is how the battery life holds up. Looking forward to finally getting a hold of one of these Pixel's.

    PIXEL XL Snapdragon 821 processor

I think that's what I'm most excited for... The great camera experience. Hopefully the battery life is excellent. I'm leaning towards the Pixel, but if the battery life on the Pixel is lacking, then I'll have to consider the XL.

Google Trade in or Trade up program

This is a great idea and I'd be interested. I don't normally upgrade every year, but I would like to. It would be okay to splurge once a year around this time to get the newest and greatest from Google. It ultimately builds brand loyalty and shows the customers you are committed to them long term.

    I went with Silver...

I just wish that both the white and blue versions had a black front, similar to the Nexus line, regardless on the rest of the body color. To me that was a way to separate a Google phone from the others. Plus it hides all of those sensors on the front. Just my 2 cents...

What US carrier will you use the Pixel on?

Project Fi. It's been great so far. Coverage has been excellent. Cost is straightforward. Customer service is awesome compared to the large carriers. I would highly recommend Fi for anyone that doesn't need unlimited data.

Who has decided to switch from an Android phone and buy an iPhone now?

Umm no. I will not be switching. My wife and a lot of my family members have an iPhone and I just don't care for them. I feel they're limited with their functionality after having been on Android (Nexus) for the last 4 years.

Google Store opening in New York later this month

I heard about this. I'm sure it'll be a trial to see how it performs. I would love for it to be a success. It would be awesome to see Google stores pop up all over the country. Customer service is the one thing that Google has always struggled with and this would go a long way to bridge that gap.

Will old chargers work on the Pixel?

Just look at the voltage and current ratings on the old chargers. Most likely they'll be rated somewhere between 3 - 5 volts and 1-3 amps. If the older chargers are rated the same as our lower than the Pixel's charger you will be okay. The only thing really keeping you from other charges is if...

    IP53 water resistant

I think water and dust protection are extremely useful features and I'm surprised more companies haven't opted for the higher IP68 or 67 to distinguish themselves from other manufacturers. I'm fine with Pixel's water and dust resistance though. To me, this is a feature that puts a company over...

Which in car charger should I get for my Pixel? Does USB-C solve previous car charging issues?

I would recommend the Aukey car charger I've listed below. I'm a big fan of both Aukey and Anker. It works great for me and it definitely seems to keep up... No drain while using like you mentioned. Good luck...

    Google Photos Unlimited Incentive Clarification

Okay cool. Thanks for the heads up. I can see why it would be for life, but it would definitely say them apart if it was for the life of the phone as long as it was active.
