Have you turn on the service in Accessibility settings?
Simply go to Settings>Accessibility> scroll down to the "Services" tab then click on the application's name you want to use and turn it on. That's all. Enjoy.

I am one of people who still use SMS -though not so much. I use it when there is a problem with data signal. It's an alternative way to contact people around me.

I also face this problem. My battery drains very fast. I have tried to find out which apps use the most battery but found nothing. I just bought my phone for only 2 months.
