Camera update? Are they going to fix it?

Thanks again to everyone who posted. I replaced my Moto X with an S4. The S4 is getting great shots. I can see a valid debate between the S4 and the iPhone, but the Moto X is unfortunately in a (sub) league of it's own. Perfect lighting = decent shots. Anything else = major exposure issues...

Post pictures taken with the Moto X (1st gen) here

Re: Post pictures taken with Motorola X here Tony - Good point. These were taken in an ideal condition...outside with diffused light. I'm still looking for pics of people in a dim (not dark) room, or slightly backlit, etc. Mine always turn out unusable.

Camera update? Are they going to fix it?

Interesting, is anyone here getting good shots of real people? The shots I see are of objects in daylight. My shots fall apart whenever the auto exposure gets involved. (which is most shots.) I'm curious if this is a HW sensor issue or a fixable Sw issue. Thanks.

Camera update? Are they going to fix it?

Thanks to everyone who gave helpful feedback. I'm coming to the end of my return window and need to make a decision. The fact that I'm lamenting having to give it up due to the bad camera just shows how good the rest of the phone really is. Most new features on phones are gimmicks but the Moto...

Camera update? Are they going to fix it?

I've tried tap to focus (too slow) and I've tried disabling HDR, neither help much. Shooting my kids this evening with the Moto X yielded unusable pics (dark and blurry). I found an old iph4 and used it instead and got fine images. I'm not making this up. Any news on a camera update...?

Camera update? Are they going to fix it?

I like this phone except for the camera...it is so bad I don't think I can keep it. The main issues are photographing people (especially children) and the autoexposure. The auto exposure cannot expose the auto focus subject correctly. The shutter speed is too slow to shoot kids, which is a...

    Pictures of Kids

I just switched from an iPhone 5 to the Moto X. I cannot seem to get a shot of my kids with this phone that isn't blurry. I've tried autofocus on and off. HDR on and off. The nice pics I've seen on this forum are all of stationary objects. Can someone with kids please advise. Thanks in advance!
