I had this problem as well. Now playing worked (you could see the music in the 'history' view but the songs would not show in the lock screen). I thought it was because I was running Q. I just turned off Developer options and now it works on the lock screen again. Thanks mustang!

P3 running Qbeta2. Issues from that list that I've noticed: Screen flashing - yep mine did it unless I hid all notifications on the lock screen. My phone no longer has this issue - possibly fixed when I switched to Q, not sure. Wireless charging issues - yes my phone shows some anomalies here...

I downloaded and installed that backup just to see what the fuss was about. Really it's very meh for me. I guess I don't care much about having a phone setup that mimics a Pixel XL. I think I'll go back to what I had.
