Hi, no you don't Need to root your phone...you just turn all functions from it of and so McAfee doesn't run... it is always running making scan when you don't Need and all games or data in Internet it makes scan all the time burning the cores of the phone...my G3 was getting over 50* overheated...

Hi, just turn off McAfee security...I've been for a week trying to solve this battery issues and found out that the Android system drain was caused by this app...from yesterday with 100% in 15 minutes has eaten 20% of battery just listening music and then just turning McAfee off I have now 35 %...
