I use Firefox. Probably for a petty reason, but I like that it implements some of the rubberbanding and other effects that are closer to iOS.

Are there any apps that allow for a 'click' sound (or any sound even) upon locking the phone? I have to say this was something I got used to on the iPhone...

This was an incredibly helpful tweak! I set it to require two touch confirmation which pretty much eliminates any unintended screen activations. I hope it doesn't hurt battery life too much though.

Hmm I see a toggle to turn off the data, but what's the one that would let me switch between 3G/LTE?

Are there any apps that can toggle on/off the LTE on the phone? (e.g., drop down to HSPA or 3G)

Thanks for sharing your insights - I feel I am in a similar boat with you as regard to being a fan of Apple products. But the iphone5 sort of felt like a bust for me and I've stayed with the 4S... I'm 99% certain I'll switch to the HTC One once my upgrade becomes eligible in a handful of days...
