    Verizon marshmellow update 6.0.1

After 5 failed attempts, trying different things (pulling MicroSD card, batt, etc..) I finally resorted to a full factory reset. That did the trick. Stupid that we have to resort to stuff like this.

update 1.41 - reportedly breaks root and blocks sideloading

I'm kind of torn on this. I liked being able to sideload apps and have the Amazon App store, all without having to root. I still don't feel like rooting, and having to block updates. BN has a very large window for returning these tablets. If you purchased it after Nov 14th 2010 Holiday Return...

    Nook Tablet or Kindle Fire?

You can side load apps, and even get access to the Amazon App Store all without rooting. The SD card gives you the ability to load up on movies to watch offline. Since she will be watching movies, I would lean towards the Nook Tablet. Having twice the RAM makes movies run smoother and with...

    Nook Tablet or Xoom?

How can you determine which is the better deal when ignoring price?

    Love the Nook Tablet!

That would be my one complaint about the Nook Tablet. It was not a deal breaker for me, since I usually use my headphones for audio.

    $199 for Tablet soon?!

Sounds like someone bought themselves a Fire, and wants to feel good about it. The Nook Tablet really does not need rooting to work well. With a few adjustments, I have full access to the Amazon app store, and can side load apps from the Android Marketplace. The Kindle fire may have a bigger...

    3.2 question

So I was wondering what people thought about the 3.2 upgrade. My Tab has been working perfect with 3.1. I have it rooted, but still running the stock rom. I have Netflix, and it works flawlessly. In other words, I personally don't see any reason why I should mess with an upgrade at this point. I...

    3.2 update?

I'm rooted but running the stock ROM. I did change the libnvomx.so file to get Netflix. Anyone know if 3.2 will break that?

    Iconia Battery App Worth It?

The easiest way to increase battery life is to decrease your screen brightness. Also if you are watching a movie or doing other tasks that don't involve WiFi, turn the WiFi off. I get about 6 1/2 hours of use time between charges. And that is watching videos, and doing some web surfing.

    Max Go, NetFlix, HBO Go?!?!?!

You're asking the wrong people. The content providers are the ones that have to develop official apps for tablets. In the meantime, we have the ability to root and install work-arounds to get the content we want. In all honesty, I'm seeing a bunch of complaints about the limitations of not just...

How to save changed wifi settings?

You may want to try a factory reset. You will lose any apps that you installed, so make a list so you can reload them.

    App crashes

Interesting, this is the first I've heard of it. Since I have not had any real issues (yet), I guess i never would have looked into it. The forum you linked has a fix for your issue. Have you tried to see if that works?

    App crashes

Try doing a soft reset. Take a small paperclip and press the reset button by the fullsized USB port

What are you favorite tablet apps and why?

Engadget, BBC news, Netflix (root and install) and Weatherbug are the ones I find myself using a lot.

    Help me choose

Yes I would buy it again, especially now since the price has dropped. As far as performance; the tablets you listed all have similar hardware. It comes down to which one has more video options for you. I would go with the Iconia, if anything for the full size usb port. I watch movies both from...
