I figure it is all part of the new database that all the telco's are going to reference for valid IMEI numbers. if the phone has been unlocked before the contract is up it will mark it as bad IMEI in the database. I am just figuring. what say anyone else that may be in the know about it.

ok when i go to the menu location for the APN'sI have a locked AT&T PTA APN that can not be erased. Does that tell me that the phone needs to have the unlock code entered if I use a non AT&T sim card?
