OK, so I should exchange for another...?

Try a factory reset or two, and then return it within the return window while it's still easy to do so. Samsung support is generally well-intentioned but incredibly unhelpful with these kinds of things. They just have no idea and follow scripts. So just try another one while it is easy to do so.

My honest opinion of the Samsung Galaxy Watch

When I bought my 46mm it was lasting barely two days on a charge with modest use. So I swapped it for another within the return window, and I just returned from a four day trip with almost 35% charge left (AOD, wifi off, frequent heart rate, dark watch face). If you still can, try swapping your...

    Galaxy watch Battery life

FWIW, I picked up a 46mm bluetooth at Best Buy, and and after several days with conservative settings was getting barely a day and a half, so I took it back and swapped it for another one and the new one with the same settings is 100% better; charged it right after I bought it on Saturday and...

    Always on display

Always on Displays intentionally shift around slightly to prevent screen burn in. It's not a bug, it's a feature, so you don't get permanent "ghosts" of watch faces burned into your screen.

Gear S2 or Gear Sport work with iPad mini? Will it work.

gear s2 only works with phones, not iPad s or tablets, and wifi-only email is very limited, basically only works fully when paired to a Samsung phone. assume gear sport will be the same. Sorry.

    Weather definitely not updating

I also had the weather-never-updating problem when I turned off wifi. It updates when I turn wifi on, but I don't need the wifi and the battery drain that comes with it. (Have the latest firmware, a bluetooth classic S2.)

Display goes off and on while charging

I have a version of that problem. It looks like it's pretty common, and since it's initiated since an update, must be software-related. One can hope that Samsung will fix in a future update. More here...

Gear S2 work with Google Apps anytime soon?

Yes, sorry, My Tasks is what I was referring to. It works. And while I agree that apps is a weak point for the Gear watches, for the record, over the past year 3rd party clients have been released for Evernote, Roku, Nest, Tasker, IFTTT, Philipps Hue, Sleep as Android, and more.

Tasks for gear s2 is available in the Galaxy app store, at least for my bluetooth s2 classic.

a list of apps that work with the Gear S2; please add to it here

There are a variety of watch apps that offer limited kinds of access to the phone. (E.g., Phone Remote, $2, lets you use the watch to toggle ringtone profiles, wifi on/off, bluetooth on/off, and a few other things.) And there are watch apps that work with phone apps IFTTT (Triggers), or Tasker...

S Health data available on pc?

Shealth does not have a PC version or a complete web interface. SHealth android does allow you to export up to three months worth of heart rate data to an excel file. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

    GPS Tracking

    Yes, I do that regularly.

Interested in Gear S2 or S3

The iPhone app for the Gear S2 is in open beta, i.e., they're testing it and it's not complete. So unless you like to live life on the edge, you probably want to wait until the official iPhone Gear S2 app is out; Samsung has not said when that will be (and if they had provided a date it wouldn't...

"Here Map" for Driving Directions on Phone Takes over Watch....

A while back, I experimented with both Komoot (on bikepaths) and Gear Navigator (on roads) while on a bicycle, where being able to glance at your wrist to see how far to the next intersection is useful. Here maps is good, but it takes over the watch, as you said; Gear Navigator had kind of the...

"Here Map" for Driving Directions on Phone Takes over Watch....

It's been about six months since I've used Here maps, but I noticed that as well: the app is aggressive about how it takes over the watch (which in some circumstances might be what you want, but I can see not always), and I never figured out a way to control it's behavior. Agree that the S2...
