I turned off AD to test and I get the same results as 18t above. Double tap once to get clock, double tap again to get lock screen. Works every time for me. Sorry I can't be more help.

This sounds like an issue with your device. When I double tap it ALWAYS gets me to the screen where I can swipe up to get the unlock screen. Are you using ambient display?

Since # 2 is the "thickest, and likely heaviest phone you can imagine" it would definitely not fit in my pocket, so I'd choose #1. I don't really care what the phone looks like and I'm not a spec snob, but I do care about having a phone that's easy to carry with me and use with 1 hand.

I would take the one that fits in my pocket.

Time for an upgrade from my OG moto x that's stuck on KitKat.

Love my OG Moto X, but I'm still stuck on KitKat. Marshmallows are so much better.

My warranty showed up as void as soon as I got the unlock code from Motorola. I don't think it matters if you actually use the code.

The only workaround I've found is to go back to 4.2.2. Hopefully they're working on fixing this.

Just follow the instructions here to flash the 4.2.2 firmware. Linky It looks complicated, but it's actually very simple.

Just to update, I ended up going back to 4.2.2. due to the assist app not working properly in 4.4. I haven't had this error since.

Re: Motorola Assist Update adds "Voice Reply" Me too. That's why I went back to 4.2.2. I'll try 4.4 again if they ever fix this.
