So I am curious, my brother and his girlfriend got an S5 each on the same day that my lens cover broke and theirs are just fine. My model is a black one and theirs are the white versions. So I guess what I am asking are if the lens is breaking on the white bodied ones as well or just the black...

Where did you order the glass from?

I saw a friends S3 fall out of his bag while we were riding down a road outside of Denver and it went for a long hard skid down the road at 45mph and bounced off into a field. I called it so we could hopefully find it and it rang! It was in an Otterbox Defender case. Posted via Android Central App

I have always had my phones in cases just in case it got dropped. The one time I do break a phone it wasn't from a drop. I think it hit a display cabinet corner in the store while on my hip in the holster with the camera facing out. Posted via Android Central App

We all know glass is glass and that it breaks when dropped but Gorilla glass is better than regular glass at resisting breakage from impact. Samsung has apparently used just a regular piece of glass over the lens cover instead of gorilla glass that would be expected. And Apple still uses...

I did not drop it. It was in the Otterbox Defender case and in the holster for the case. The angle of the opening on the Defender case is very steep on the sides and looks like is directing objects right towards the edge of the lens glass. Posted via Android Central App

I have mine in an Otterbox Defender. I think the opening on the case for the camera is angled to steeply and directs sharp objects right at the lens cover. I put mine in the case within an hour of getting the phone. Posted via Android Central App

And no one has the parts to fix it for about another month. I am not about to pay the insurance cost to get it fixed either.
