Got my phone yesterday. Did the Moonshine method on a Chromebook (Acer C7) with ChrUbuntu installed on it in 64bit mode and it worked perfectly.
It was probably the easiest s-off and root I've ever had.
The fact that it didn't go OTA is saying something...
The EVO 3D is also no longer sold. Virgin has absolutely zero incentive to update a phone will not net them any new sales.
If the rom doesn't have it working, nobody else will. You can pretty much count on it. Notice how ALL non stock based roms have broken 3D?
You're stuck with ICS. Manufacturers do not release updates for users if the carrier won't push it.
The HTC EVO 3D and the Virgin HTC EVO V 4G are ONE AND THE SAME.
The only difference between the phones is in software: Baseband information for Virgin rather than Sprint.
Fast boot has nothing to do with rooting (aside from the fact that it MUST be disabled for rooting to work) and is actually the #1 cause of problems with the EVO3D. Anyone who knows what they're talking about wouldn't be praising it.
