The proximity sensor recognises the far -> near transition much more sensitively than near-far. So it goes dark but never comes back. Removing the gorilla glass screen protector does work for me, but then my screen isn't protected. (D'oh!) Still, I have a wallet case. If 8.2 doesn't fix it...

re: I'm having the same problem. Using the proximity calibration App, I got it to the point where I can reopen the phone by pressing the power button and then using the fingerprint sensor. Very disappointing in an allegedly to end phone.
