I have a similar issue, I can get the keys to pull up but the damn swipe up Voicemate/search/quick memo thing keeps popping up too, and I forget how I disabled it last time on 4.2.2 :(

I had the same problem with my 1st tb after a year the lower left was dead in spots I had to get a replacement from vzn
