LG and Google announce the Nexus 4, 8GB $299

It won't work with Verizon or Sprint - the two CDMA carriers. This phone appears to be a GSM exclusive, no matter how you look at it. :) :)

I want the Nexus 4 but I have Verizon

Black Man X just tweeted this: Mobile Panda ‏@black_man_x So... Is Verizon really ready to give the nexus another chance? Hmm January may bring a happy new year for team big red.. Excuse me, isn't the question more one of is Google ready to give Verizon another chance? And the answer to that...

    AT&T ICS improvements with Vivid?

I just got the Vivid a couple of days ago, from Amazon for a penny. I'm quite impressed with this really cool phone and the first thing I did after the initial setup was download and install the OTA update to ICS, so I spent no time what so ever on Gingerbread.

    Buying unlocked

I don't believe that the 32 Gb version is available yet on the International version, so if you buy early, it will have to be the 16 Gb version. -Mike

Oh boy, release pushed to December :/

Re: Oh boy :/ ::Jumping up & down, waiving my hand in the air:: I'm a Liberal Democrat, and I most *definitely* want a Galaxy Nexus as my next phone - but I refuse to use a CDMA device like Verizon sells. I'm waiting for the GSM version, an AT&T release. Then, we can all -...

Oh boy, release pushed to December :/

Re: Oh boy :/ I agree and disagree. :) Yes, Verizon has the largest number of subscribers, and yes any phone manufacturer would be crazy to ignore them. That being said, we are not talking about just any old phone here, we're talking about Google's flagship phone - The Nexus. I would venture...

samsung needs to knock it off (rant)

Because Verizon gets it first, and you can tell by their heavy advertising that they're *thrilled* with being the first to offer it in the US. :D ;) -Mike

samsung needs to knock it off (rant)

Common sense thought here - there's no WAY that Samsung and Google will let a CDMA carrier like Verizon be the sole company to sell their flagship phone in the US market, so there will *have* to be a GSM version offered for sale by AT&T and/or T-Mobile. My two cents worth... :) -Mike

samsung needs to knock it off (rant)

I had heard a rumor that Verizon changed their mind and wanted to back out of the deal for reasons that aren't entirely clear - maybe because Google wouldn't let them load their bloatware on the Nexus. -Mike

Can att find out if someones tethering?

My understanding is the same applies to Android devices on AT&T - they apparently *can* detect it, and notify you to stop doing it, or they'll start charging. Seems like a fair approach by AT&T IMHO. -Mike

    ETA for root now?

If you're reluctant to use the "Pudding" solution found here - [PUDDING] International House of Pudding! (Unlock/root thread) Updated July 23 2011 - xda-developers - then you may have a long wait. The most recent OTA update removed the weakness that Gingerbreak exploited to gain root. Following...

Bootloader workaround working (sort of) on XDA

Have you guys seen this - How To: Unlock the Atrix 4G Bootloader - BriefMobile - because it really DOES work. I now have a totally unlocked bootloader on my Atrix. There was also an updated version of the port that tenfar did, over on the xda forum, for Clockwork Mod Recovery, which makes CWR...

Gingerbread for the Atrix 4G coming between June and July.

I'm with you on that Kage. I have no intention of giving up root for sideloading (which I already have) plus an OTA version of Gingerbread. Once they start sending the OTA out, the cool features will be available to the custom rom developers, and I trust them a whole lot more than I do Motorola...
