Sorry, I did not make what I meant clear. I meant that not having missed calls show up is unforgivable. My Android version is 14.

I have tried the suggestions. Googling shows the "no missed calls" can be fixed by NINE solutions so I tried them all. Paranoid me makes me think there's a planned obsolescence plot. Apparently, the Pixel 5 is not supported any longer, so I don't expect Google to make any fixes after my feedback.

Thank you all for your positive replies and suggestions to my very negative post. I will explore all and provide feedback to Google from the Phone app's settings menu (under Help & Feedback). Having said that, and before I try the fixes, the fact remains that simple little guidance messages...

Pixel 5. I got a call . The Answer thing appeared at the bottom. I stabbed the Answer option, and because I failed to swipe it it disappeared. The phone kept ringing. Then I could not find anything on the screen to say how to answer the call, and eventually they hung up. Luckily I had time...
