In my view the right way to go about choosing a text app is to first see what app the majority of your nearest and dearest are using and then choose that. After all, the whole point is to be able to keep in touch with people instantly. You could choose the "bestest" most secure app but if not...

Ummm.... what is your question here? You appear to be asking how to create an Android app to display JSON data from MySQL. That question is way too broad and I suspect not quite right for this forum. You are better of trying Stackoverflow though if you pose the question in its present form...

If anyone reading this thread is starting to get concerned about using Chinese tech consider the LG G7 Fit. It has an excellent screen, a decent camera, an NFC reader, finger print sensor... - all for well less than USD 200.
