I have the same issue. Using a Kyocera Echo on rooted Froyo.

I think you may be onto something. Come to think of it, every time I can remember, the reboots only happened when the phone was idle for a while after installing a new app. Could this be a feature implimented by kyocera without our knowledge!?

Okay I mounted as read/write and copied the files over but still receive errors upon attempting to start VueQue. It's been so troublesome I've just chosen to freeze it, but I still would like to try to fix this as I don't like the idea of damaged system apps and this is a good excercise to help...

Thanks, you've really cleared up a lot of my misconseptions on how this OS functions. I'm new to linux-like OS's so this is all a bit foreign to me. One more issue: "You don't have permission to copy to that directory". Will I need to use the debugging bridge? My phone is rooted so I don't see...

I've already done so. It turned itself off last night while I was charging it, but has not done so since. Maybe it's fixed itself. One can only hope. I'll get back to you guys if I find anything out.

Oh, I'd thought since it was a .apk (Android PacKage file, I assume), I could just run it to reinstall the obex and whatnot, but thanks! ^_^

Not that I know of. Maybe JuiceDefender? It may be that my careless uninstallation of VueQue has thrown my entire device out of wack but I don't see how that'd cause random shutdowns...

That's unfortunate. I didn't know you can't so much as access system files without root. Wow, no wonder so many find it necessary to root.
