I also experienced this problem but succeeded in sorting it out. ha had my Bluetooth enabled and my headphones were added as Trusted Device and connected to the phone. This Trusted Device was actually unlocking the phone. Check details in Smart Lock option. Nothing wrong with phone or operating...
