Had the same issue with my (Sprint) Samsung Galaxy S II. Wasn't even aware that any update had been applied to Google+. Got off work, got home, went to check my email - 10 seconds later my screen went black. Couldn't get the phone to respond (hard lock). Pulled the back and pulled the battery...
