Yep noticed the issue after installing 4.2. You aren't alone. Read a few posts suggesting it was related to WiFi. Turned off the WiFi optimization setting to see if it helps. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Android Central Forums

Turned off auto-brightness and I still notice fluctuations in the screen. Haven't had my tablet long but this wasn't an issue with 4.1.2. Disappointing this code wasn't checked a little better considering this is a premier Google branded product. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Android Central Forums

I have had my N7 for less then a week. No issues with 4.1.2 and after the upgrade to 4.2 yesterday, I have the same Auto Brightness issue. Looks like a bug to me. Hope they fix this soon.
