    The 6P works. All the phones in the Nexus line work perfectly. I'm not sure why you'd say the 6P stock interface won't work.

    Considering you're going to mess with an OEM head unit, you might want to see if it can handle outputting that much juice. My Pioneer unit went into a safety mode when I tried to pull 2.5A for a faster charge through a USB-C cable. It's a head unit, not a wall socket.

    Re: Can I use a "Power Injector" from a car adapter to enable "quick charge" from my USB port? It depends on the head unit you have. I tripped out my 8100NEX by using a high charge cable with my 5X which pulls 3A. Back to a 1.7A cable and everything works, with a normal charge.

    Been nothing but happy with my Pioneer 8100. Supports Android and Apple. Comes with a GPS receiver, does rear camera, back seat monitors, and you can buy Pioneer's traffic subscription, but honestly, just use Google Maps. It sources on its own with no cost.

    You have a head unit that runs Android as an OS. There's nothing to say it's built for Android Auto, which sources through a phone. This is a standalone unit that you can load Google Maps onto. You'd have to get a GPS antenna and hook it up, or figure some way to do it through your USB connected...

    Any feedback? I haven't had any connectivity issues (5X and 8100NEX),but I can tell you that the music browsing still doesn't work. I get a message that says my car needs to be in Park for additional browsing, but I drive a manual, so there is no Park. Just the hand brake. Even when that's on...
