Yup, same here on Motorola moto g2. No charging sounds before the update.(L) No charging sounds after the update, even after turning on the option. (M)

Go to settings, and then security. First, try to remove the security credentials. Don't worry, all of them won't be deleted, as I just did that. If it doesn't work, the Deactivate administrators in 'Device administrators'. If that doesn't work too, then De-encrypt your phone. Enjoy! :)
