in order to repeat the media file you have to be in the screen that shows that 1 particular media file, that's the way most of the media players are designed, maybe you can request the programmers to add the repeat feature in the list views menu icon, programmers want to make their customers...

you should be able to create folders in any directory with a file manager,as far as the cursor I don't think you can hide the cursor if it is possible it would be listed in the settings of the app

simplest thing I would do especially you having a practically new phone is get the media onto an sd card using a file manager and resetting the phone back to factory condition
