Just got an e-mail from Google "Your Google Play Order from 03-Dec-2012 Has Been Shipped‏". I had 6-7 week shipping estimate so it looks like anyone in that group should be getting there tracking number soon.

I'm in the 5-6 week group and my status also changed from pending to pre-ordered, so I don't think this is an indication that it will ship soon. Also I haven't been charged yet, which is expected because my phone wont ship for another 4 to 5 weeks.

So it seems they just add a few days to your worst case shipping estimate and send that out as a generic email. Not very helpful information from google, but at least now I know I wont actually have to wait that long.
