Kind of at the end of my rope with this issue. Would anyone suggest a factory reset to see if that would work (will be a major pain trying to save as much as I can from the phone) or do you think it would be a hardware issue (which I don't think it is, being that it USED to work)?

If you could clarify how I would do that, perhaps I can try that. Device manager does not appear to display any obvious or easily recognizable references to the phone. Any suggestions/ideas on what device/areas I should be looking?

I have just realized that I previously had Samsung drivers V1.3.450.0 installed (not V1.3.550.0 as you gave me a dl link for). I figured perhaps that was the issue... so I uninstalled those, and re-installed with the new file again. Unfortunately same error. Got the V1.3.450.0 drivers back...
