    thanx Lanhoj, you gave me the confidence to upgrade. BTW, you're right you have to update to 4.2 before it prompts you to upgrade to 4.2.1. @sizzle81, take a deep breath...let's not do anything you're going to regret here...

    Well thanks for the feedback guys. I bought it on CL so I have no idea where it's from but it happened a few months after purchase so I can't really blame the seller. Just bad luck/manufacturing I suppose. Ah well, just step closer to upgrading I guess.

    I'm still on 4.1 on my Galaxy Nexus and I keep getting nagged 12 times a day to upgrade to 4.2 OTA. The problem is I've read so many strange bugs on 4.2 that I want to wait until 4.2.1 to upgrade. Any idea when 4.2.1 is coming out for the GNEX?

    Anyone know what happened to my screen and if I can reverse this? Is this because of a drop, water damage, faulty screen? It started as a little pink corner and has now spread to encompass about 1/6 of the screen as you can see in the pic...

    Really? That's it!? Seems like more of a hassle than anything. I understand that you should OK any permissions change but couldn't they pop up a window the next time you use the app to ask instead of not updating the app and making manual update list?

    hi, I have all my apps set to update automatically but sometimes they show up in the 'manual updates' section in the play store. What determines if an app needs to be manually updated while other automatically update?
