I finally go through to someone in the chat section. It took awhile for him to understand that this is not an att phone and that they locked the phone when they put in a new sim. He says he is putting in a ticket to higher support and I should get a response in a day or two.

I think that osubass1 probably has the answer to my problem. I made the mistake of letting ATT install my new sim and they probably installed all of the ATT stuff that "locked" my phone to that carrier. I now have an $800 brick 9 months of the year!! That's just wrong!!!!
