    the update I got yesterday was 260mb in size so I'm assuming it was a bit more than just a security update as them on their own are around 100mb but I haven't noticed much difference

    quite possibly yes. usually on the ball with these sort of things sammobile. I just received the April patch yesterday so fingers crossed for this one
