[ how to ][root][GB] root the lg viper GB/ics

Re: [ how to ][updated][ICS now] root the lg viper You just need the .bin file if I remember right. As for recovery, a handful of people are still working on it, but I've yet to see any fully working results. Then again, it's been a while since I've been on either ac or af forums - that's...

I am thinking of getting this for my gf

Actually... it released on the 15th in 5 cities, mostly in TX, but Atlanta was another, and the speeds of it are insane.. They run in comparison to Comcast's 12mbp connection, which, as anyone knows who has Comcast in that connection speed and runs speed tests, shows up in the low 20s on any...

anybody else get an update this morning?

Yes, the update does kill root, but from the looks of it, they still haven't patched against ratc, so it should be nothing to re-root.

[ how to ][root][GB] root the lg viper GB/ics

Re: [ how to ] root the lg viper In regards to your 1, trust, I learned the hard way not to use /bin (with this phone) - like I said before, it killed the root on the phone and I had to start over with short fuse's s-o-c. The /xbin install works without flaw, though. I totally agree with you...

[ how to ][root][GB] root the lg viper GB/ics

Re: [ how to ] root the lg viper Checkout the thread I started in this forum. I posted a response to Mista_J that tells how I did things to get them to work. I hope that helps. :) AFAIK, there is no loose copy of it. You can download the source and compile it. :P TBQH, my first build with...

Re: [please sticky] to anyone trying to ota update and it won't t It took a little time to kick up data upon reboot even before the update. I've noticed this on this phone.. for whatever reason, it takes forEVER for it to kick back up, and yeah, to get it up faster, you can reboot, or do a...

[please sticky] to anyone trying to ota update and it won't take:

Re: [please sticky] to anyone trying to ota update and it won't t Did you backup the system apps? You should just be able to restore them, and be fine. I noticed the updater-script checks the integrity of certain system apps too - i.e. assert(apply_patch_check(... is your culprit.. I'm...

[please sticky] to anyone trying to ota update and it won't take:

TO ANYONE TRYING TO OTA UPDATE AND IT WON'T TAKE: If your software version is saying vzc still, and you have made changes to your build.prop. Also, as mentioned below by Mista_J, if you have removed system apps, this will also cause the update to fail. The update checks all of those for...

[ how to ][root][GB] root the lg viper GB/ics

Re: [ how to ] root the lg viper ROM Toolbox is a great program, actually. No need to have uninstalled it. I have jared (the dev of that app) on my gtalk. I don't think he's aware (or just hasn't implemented it yet) of the setup for doing the boot animations in this phone yet. I'll try...

[ how to ][root][GB] root the lg viper GB/ics

Re: [ how to ] root the lg viper What all do you need? I think I've got a working recovery.img that should work, it's cwr based, via Koush's builder, but the good part is, I pulled apart the stock recovery after I figured out which partition they stuck it in, and pulled both recovery.fstab's...
