The phone was trying to sync Picasa photos in the Gallery. Settings > Accounts > Google > You@gmail dot com > uncheck Sync Picasa Web Albums If you have Picasa albums showing in your Gallery and would like to remove them, after the above steps, go to Application Manager > Gallery > Clear Cache
