You have the snap-on case. We're referring to the slide-on case. I had the snap-on case prior and it wouldn't snap shut anymore a week after I bought it. If I were you, I would not open and close the case too often.

Yes, that's right. That's the case. Strange that you're having a completely different experience with it. I had zero problems with that case until I started using HTC's supplied charging cord.
