    Understood. I think the best way is to have no lights lit on the "days" part of the display - then it works as an alarm for that day. I think we've beat that horse soundly. Thanks

    Aha! !! You have to set the alarm setting for some other day and then tap the current day. If you tap the current day first, it then programs it for the next week. Not intuitively obvious. Thanks for the reply.

    If today is Thursday and you tap Thursday, it says the alarm is for a week from now. I don't see any way that I can set an alarm for an hour from now.
