My "Google Play services" is using 62% of the battery when I check. I have HTC EVO 4G LTE. I have power settings set to maximum power savings. I don't see an easy way of uninstalling "Google Play services" but probably it would be unwise to uninstall it anyway. The phone is warm all the time.

I had the same problem (The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected) error in Win 8.1. I have dual boot with Linux and it did not want to copy there either. I tried a DIFFERENT CABLE and it worked no problem, THANKS!!
