The below mentioned update did not fix it for me BUT I finally figured out a work around to keep all the functionality but still stop the battery drain/always on. I went to the Android app store and downloaded GOOGLE CALENDAR app. Apparently the S7 calendar app is NOT the stock nougat calendar...

You are my new hero. Been having an issue with bluetooth since i went to Marshmallow and every guide recommended cache wipe but it was never working. That did the job. Now we will see if bt works any better. :)
