You can also use Greenify to force doze sooner than the default timing. I can confirm that it works without root, and I only ever used it for the Aggressive Doze feature (i didn't bother with the Hibernation stuff). Nowadays I'm using ForceDoze with Xposed, because I gained root on my S7edge...

Don't know if any of you folks are interested, but there are a few threads over at xda dealing with getting root on the S7edge. I haven't tried it yet, but I probably will soon.

Things I've disabled with Package Disabler Pro on my Verizon S7 Edge

This post is round and smooth on all edges. It is also pointless.

BTW, that was unintentional but serendipitous

I use the BlackBerry keyboard (far superior, IMHO) and misspelled words are similarly underlined.

I've been using a Speck CandyShell from early on. Before now, I would go with no case at all. But the Speck has been good to me and doesn't really add much bulk. I still pocket my device. I don't really run into any major issues in terms of screen damage, but maybe I lead a pampered life. LOL

As an attorney who often has to review charts, I appreciate the details. I'm sorry it's so difficult to log that stuff, but trust me - it matters. A lot. BTW, I managed to log 30 hours this weekend. No celebration (or relaxation) for me.

Back in the day, I dropped my brand new BlackBerry Z10 four stories off my apartment balcony onto the asphalt parking lot below. This was about five hours after I bought it. Battery door popped off, I think the battery popped out too. Aside from a very minor scratch on one corner, it was...

Doze, Samsung Optimize, Greenify, and the "Bad" Ones: Battery Life

Re: Doze, Samsung Optimize, Greenify, and the "Bad" Ones: Battery Life That's my hunch as well, however wouldn't disabling Optimize also disable the white list feature? I am willing to leave Optimize to do its own business, and I'd rather Greenify follow those same rules when forcing...

Doze, Samsung Optimize, Greenify, and the "Bad" Ones: Battery Life

I only use Greenify for the Aggressive Doze mode. Since it uses the same white list as Optimize, I'm not really worried about whether the functions overlap.

I agree with this recommendation. I got mine on sale at Best Buy, think it was $49.99

All carriers seem to find a way to make everything proprietary. Sure Sprint and VZW are technically both CDMA. But they're just "that much" different that devices won't work across them. Kinda like how VZW has somehow gained control over FM radio. Ah, the magic of North American cellular wizardry.

Waiting for the next VZW update in the hopes it will fix the ridiculous Android System battery drain.

Here we go again, Stock Keyboard, Swiftkey or...

One thing that's missing for sure from the BlackBerry keyboard is the "slide for alternate" function. On a BB10 device, you can press the "?123" key and slide to whichever character you need, then let go. You'll input the alternate character and the keyboard goes right back to alphabet. The...
