FINNALLY got this resolved. I will post how if anyone else has this issue. Basically google now was stuck as the default for the long home button press. I went to settings>application manager> all found google search and reset the data and cache. rebooted and it works like a charm now!

im not sure what i did, but now google now comes up when i hold the home button. I want task manager back and i already cleared the settings and it gives me only the option for google when i try again anyone know how i can get the task manager back?
