I agree, except when retailer discounts come in. For instance Target has a $200 gift card with purchase right now, bringing the cost down to $592 (counting the gift card). I was hoping for better deals on Black Friday, but so far they aren't that great (at least not for upgrades).

I agree, but the update sounds nice (new UI, shows deals close to you, etc). It is a fantastic phone and I'm going to enjoy it till the last minute when I pick up an S7E to replace it (probably black friday). Of course it's only a few months away until the S8 is announced and less than a year...

I tried to update Samsung Pay to the new version and got the message "This device model will no longer support future app updates". Then it reminds you to power down your device and exchange it for an inferior device. Ok, so I added a little to that last part lol. I'm glad they are doing this...

Verizon says they have no information yet on when they will get them. Which is funny, since the first leaked pictures showed a Verizon branded version lol. I wouldn't normally hold out for a certain color, but I'll only have this until the Note 8 and this color might be slightly easier to sell...

True. I guess my decision is made for me. My local Target stores are out of stock (have been all week) and online ordering doesn't work (keep getting errors). I really didn't want to get into a phone deal with Target anyways, so I guess it works out lol Let the black Friday watch begin!

There were both, but definitely more contract. However, this year the contracts are mostly gone away I think. They just want you in the device payment plan.

I looked at the 2015 BF deals on the S6 and they look pretty good. There were even some that online and didn't require 2 year contracts. A lot were gift cards, but I bet Samsung will really want to push sales to mitigate this quarters loss and the S7 is now their only flagship phone.

If you're going for the $100 60" TV, you will have a hard time. I got my wife's S4 a couple years ago from Sams Club for $.01 (new contract) and it was fairly easy.
