The new Gear manager is not any better than previous version, do not expect the S health work with Gear For me only thing working is fitness with gear app, sync right, works not too bad

Fall back to factory default playstore, no difference. Install patched, works great after the install! (previously turned off the auto update) Now I am on latest version 3 hour used only 1.5% battery

Tried many other option, I am trying fall back to default google play to see if this will help. Will report back

Found it! The key is to launch Samsung app from gear manager, not from the phone itself...

Found out the Gear 2 weather update is linked to stock weather widget, I can see every time I click update on my S4 it is updated on my Gear 2 and there is no 15 min update option in the widget nor you could change the Gear 2 weather to some other widget in my opinion. So what need to be done...
