    There's an easier way to do this. You can download Framaroot. I've tried it and it worked perfectly. You can try Googling it, I don't remember the link I used, but it's become a popular method.

    [recovery][cwm] lg optimus zip only!!!!

    I tried this but when I enter recovery, it says "E:Bad boot message" and then says "recovery" under that, and it won't let me select any options, but it will let me scroll down the list.
