FWIW, I have an unlocked Nexus 6 (from Google) and a Verizon SIM - and it never downloaded anything from Verizon. I get updates directly from Google. I know I will have to go through Samsung for updates if I get the Note 7, but I don't think it force downloads software.

When I restart the phone, I get a black box in the middle of the screen "Autorization Failed" - with no reference to which app it is. Is there anyvway to tell which app is throwing this message? Not rooted, GPS version, VZW

Yeah... That's the thing. If I stay on 3G it sends. Hopefully that's a software fix. I think I could do some sort of Tasker script that switches me over when I get texts...

I have done a power off, wait, power on cycle. I would rather not pull the factory reset ripcord until the last try.

It attempts to send and then gives me a message failure error.

I am having an issue where I can't send any texts. I can receive them. Seems to have happened right after the 5.0.1 update, but I can't confirm that. I am not rooted. Any ideas?

Cellular Network State - Disconnected (Verizon) I am running fine on my N6 purchased from GPS with a Verizon activated SIM. I was looking around and noticed in Settings, About Phone, Status that it states I am "Disconnected" in the Cellular Network State. Any ideas what this means?

Re: Shutter Sound I tried something with Tasker. When Camera starts, mute System Volume. When Camera stops (not Camera), unmute System Volume. It seems to work (although there's a lag in the unmute). Not elegant, but for the unrooted it might be a solution.

Shutter Sound No root, GPS version... any way to turn off the shutter sound on the default Google Camera?
