I'm alternating between no case and the included one. I like it the included case and the protection it provides, but the feeling of holding the phone with no case is just awesome.

Were you also using your Nexus 5 to test T-Mobile? If so, you may want to retry with the Nexus 6. The N6 has support for T-Mobile's band 12 LTE which the N5 does not. Posted via the Android Central App

The experience seems highly dependent on the apps you have installed and whether those apps have updated for Lollipop. Essentially all of mine have, and battery life is much better than with KitKat. WiFi has been better too.

I sideloaded the OTA file (not the factory image) and cleared the cache partition; I did NOT do a factory reset. After the first start, it was a little laggy for about 5 minutes but it's flying now.

I don't play video games, but is it possible the game simply hasn't been updated to work well with 5.0? Did you try a clean install of the game (i.e. uninstall and reinstall)?
