Actually what most phones including this one has is "assisted"gps.. which means it uses the towers to triangulate where you are. And you would be shocked how often our phones check in our locations to the mother ship. Watch your left corner sometimes on your phone and you will see a target...

I changed some settings and fixed my battery drain issue.. killed the gps, and made sure my email apps weren't checking constantly and other apps that check for updates like Facebook weren't set to check at all... that helped my battery life BIG time. Basically set the phone so it has no reason...

Chicago has been like this for a few months.. it's tower upgrades. I think i heard something about buffalo upgrading towers also.. Chicago is getting thebig upgrade first (which worries me being atest bed for an upgrade this large of a scale.. but could be awesome if it works like it says it...

Ya i did notice the battery drain at first.. i still show 4g when I'm back in Hammond/Griffith area near the expressway but not as fast of a battery drain. They need a 4g toggle widget like the Nexus S4G had after the ICS update so we can turn the LTE radio off when we don't need it.

Lol because if you look at a map nw indiana is part of the Chicago market. We're only a 20-30 minute drive from the city. And Chicago is getting one of the first major tower upgrades. Our towers been running T1 data off them which each tower can only handle a couple hundred people at a pop...

On an LTE device or older wimax? Because my Samsung nexus s4G picked up wimax in Hammond. But when i got the galaxy nexus which is LTE i stayed in 3G until the other day.. and reception sucked the last couple weeks here. I'm not sure if it's just the towers are finished or the LTE is on also...

Nw Indiana here just south of Chicago. Got my update yesterday. 4G is lit up like a Christmas tree. Called Sprint and a few towers in the area got finished. My speed test is reading 4133kbps download and 2118kbps upload here in Hammond Indiana ! :-)

Ya I agree. But people get horny over specs. A dual core 1GHz performs at 1GHz. So a phone with a single core 1GHz will perform at the same speed. Now if one chip is dedicated to graphics and the other is dedicated to processing then there will be a difference in games and heavy web browsing...

The problem with a sprint store like that is the store itself. I had similar problems with my WebOS device when I had home brew running on it. Figure out if your walking into a corporate sprint store or a satellite/franchise store. If you go to a corporate store they really don't care if you...
