Hmmm, I'd go with that if my Galaxy J7 wasn't still providing both light and flash at the same time with running camer app and it has done for 18 months right up to and beyond my contract renewal. Seems weird and a little annoying. The torch on with the camera is really helpful.

No. Just the one camera app that came built in this phone. And the regular 3 options - no flash, automatic flash, flash on. Same as with my old Samsung Galaxy J7

Thanks for you reply Joe. Thing is, both torch and camera worked simultaneously on Monday. On Tuesday they didn't. I've had no issue with torch being on while the camera app is open until then. I turned on the torch as usual to so I could see the object clearly and just as I opened the camera...
