Nice, I have the exact same headunit. Worked like a beauty with the note 3, metadata, track controls, play/pause. Now at best I just stream music from the phone. No controls (play/pause only stops sound from coming out of speakers, but the music continues to play in silence), etc etc. I do hope...

I went from 3 to 4. Honestly I don't feel it's as big as going from 2 to 3. Great phone nonetheless. Mainly got it in preparation for the gear VR if it's anything like the rift DK2 when I used it.

If let's say you bought an international unlocked note 4 and tried to use it on ATT you'd be locked to 4G at best. No LTE because international phones don't use same LTE bands as ATT. I'd know because I did that for the note 2. Great when traveling, but otherwise you're stuck with slower speeds.

So on the note 3 (ATT version) I used poweramp to connect to my car headunit and am able to control the play/pause/forward/back options on the app. I can also see the song titles and artists (I think you call this metadata?). I picked up the note 4 (ATT version again) and installed the same app...

Unfortunately you can't turn off wifi direct and direct share on the note 4 (att version). I could do that on the note 3. Closest thing is force stop.

Re: List of apps and services to disable? Yea I turned off all the att and app stuff. The question is the obscure services like the com stuff. I remember turning off one service I thought i didn't need and phone would error out everytime I rebooted it. Something to do with s-pen.

Re: Battery life on Note 4 Makes you wonder how those reviewers managed to get the 12+ hour video playback test. Just getting more than 6 hours of screen time is amazing.

So naturally with all new phones the carriers LOVE to bloat the hell out of it which can increase ram usage and reduce battery life. Anybody have a list of apps they disable or maybe critical ones that are useless and should be disabled immediately?

So I tried the smart switch app to transfer stuff from my note 3 to note 4. The pictures came over fine. However the apps is what I'm mainly concerned about. I wanted to transfer the app settings and save games over but all it did was create a list of apps I need to download on the new phone...

I just picked up a note 4 from a further BB branch since the local one keeps talking about the $10 value. Brought an old iphone 3gs with me that's worth 0 on their system. Rep took it no problem and gave me $200 gift card. If your phone is worth $3 they should give you the $200 gift card for it.
